NWMGA vs ELGA Challenge Shield
The NWMGA - ELGA Challenge Shield has been competed for since 1970 with the
first clashes being at Stand & Burnley Golf Clubs.
It is a real scratch challenge for NWMGA as ELGA are able to call on players from 23
clubs while we have had only 5 to choose from up to 2008 and now 7; so each of the
NWMGA's victories have been very well celebrated!
The shield was purchased in Manchester with the cost being shared by the two
associations.

It was enlarged in 2008 to record the venues & victors for another 30
years!
