Dress Code To maintain the standards within Worsley Golf Club, members and visitors are asked to observe a good standard of dress at all times.

On the Golf Course

A smart standard of dress is expected, and whilst the wearing of tailored knee length shorts is permitted, they must be worn with either plain knee length socks or plain short white socks above the ankle and not to display any logo.

The following items of dress are deemed unacceptable on the course:

• Denim jeans and jackets
• Track suits and jogging suits
• Combat style trousers
• Crew or V-necked sweaters without collared shirts underneath
• Collarless shirts
• T-shirts and Vests
• Football shirts
• Only recognised golf shoes may be worn
• Shorts – unless tailored

In addition: Caps must be worn with the peak forward – Shirts must not be worn outside trousers – Long trousers must not be tucked into socks unless wearing plus 2’s/4’s

In the Clubhouse:

Gentlemen : Smart casual dress is permitted throughout the Clubhouse at all times except:
When attending, or being present during an official Club function (excluding competition presentations).

On Saturdays and Sundays in the Main Lounge after 8.00pm or 7.00pm if there is an official club function taking place. (Including competition presentations).

In the mixed Lounge/Dining after 8.00pm or 7.00pm on Saturdays and Sundays if there is an official club function taking place.

Jacket (traditional) and tie must be worn outside all casual dress “permitted” times. Casual wear includes neat and unsoiled golf wear. Shirts must be worn inside trouser waistbands. Tailored short may be worn in the Clubhouse until 6.00 pm

The following items of dress are deemed unacceptable in the clubhouse:

• Denim or leather jackets or jeans
• Track suits and jogging suits
• Anoraks -Combat style trousers
• Collarless shirts, T-shirts and vests
• Crew or V necked sweaters worn without collared shirts underneath
• Training and sports shoes
• Shorts
• Caps and headgear
• Waterproof clothing
• The absence of shoes or men’s shoes worn without socks

Ladies – On the course and Mixed Lounge/Dining Room

All Ladies should be reasonably dressed. Tailored knee length shorts and other unsoiled casual golf clothes may be worn on the course and in the Clubhouse until 7.00pm. Only recognised golf shoes may be worn on the course.

The following items of clothing are not permitted to be worn on the course or in the Clubhouse.

• T-shirts decorated with “flashy” printing
• Short shorts
• Jeans, leggings, lycra jodhpurs, track suits
• Training shoes
• Trousers tucked inside socks

Invited Guests

Members are reminded that the dress restrictions above also apply to member’s guests both on the course and in the clubhouse. It is the member’s responsibility to ensure that guests are appropriately attired at all times.

Any person not conforming to these standards will be asked to dress accordingly or to leave the course or clubhouse.
